We have met the enemy and he is us.

Something that's been troubling me is that I share many personality traits with Bill O'Reilly. I have a tendency to see morality issues as black-and-white, though I fight that impulse as best I can. I have something of a temper, which is usually expressed when something doesn't go how I was expecting -- I'm not very good when plans fall apart. I do sometimes throw tantrums in such situations, especially when driving. ("Let's do this live!") I at times exude a sense of arrogance when talking to people who disagree with the way I view the world -- though again, I try to fight this when I recognize it. To be sure, I don't seem to have any weird falafel-based food fetish, but I can't say that I wouldn't develop one as a TV personality; and I do loves me the falafel. Though more seriously, I cannot rule out the possibility that I would exploit a position of power like that for personal gain, sexual or otherwise (though I like to think I wouldn't). So what does one do when one sees aspects of the enemy in oneself? I'm trying to use it to make myself be a fairer person when judging others; we'll see how that works out.
